Fun Fair in Sat Hill Park Essay Example for Free
Fun Fair in Sat Hill Park Essay Everything began out of the blue. The tempest started to deteriorate, hints of the tempest thundered the air, with rage. Everything felt like a haze. Haze prodded over the fields of the way, maybe the way was surrendered, due to quietness that carried cries to each to every spirit. I could see the individuals preparing, taking their places in line. Time was running, quick as a tremor pulverizes land in practically no time. It was coming to day break, not hanging tight for a hold. It was as just a single individual was permitted to move and goes on hold as a cell phone. Not exactly a second ,the tempest halted, more joyful faces came and they began to run as quick as a bull, chasing its prey. For some time, everybody was in their very own psyche , having a great time; and substantially more. Be that as it may, not for long.Out of no where came 3 men wearing dark with faces covered up and bodies secured with cowhide coat and pants with trainers. They had a similar garments, it resembled a uniform. At that point ,one man pointed the weapon up high;asking for consideration yet before we knew it ; it was focused on the closest individual close him..The ground was dissipated with body parts isolates from the dead body: hands, arms, feetââ¬â¢s and heads. Many began shouting; many cried. In any case, above all else whos in torment was the mother. She lost her child. Out of nowhere, I had a desire of strolling over the front line, shouting to us to be calm or were dead .It was an enlivening reaction, my heart was dashing quick, as I gradually strolled through the jaws of death. As I was strolling I halted, it arrived at a point where I couldââ¬â¢t talk no more. I stopped and solidified in separation and an idea, sprung up in my brain, however, I dont need to kick the bucket and I dont need any longer amazing. This idea was eating me inside, the feeling of reality had been set up, I knew this wasnt a fantasy. I didnt recognize what to do. I donââ¬â¢t mind seeing dead substance however I dont need to make life hard for my folks. I knew without me, they are nothing. All I felt was forlornness and agony, as one day each living soul will bear such a punishment.Another one of them needed to catch our eye again as everyones lost in their world. The youthful individual pointed a shot at hound. We could see its little dog hound eyes blacking out in dread. Unexpectedly, another person came and made all the difference. The man who was prepared to hazard his life for us all represented mankind. Approaching them for what they want. The answer was nothing. They fled when a squad car came pass.

Enabling Its Not Blaming the Family
Enabling Its Not Blaming the Family Addiction Alcohol Use Print Enabling: Its Not Blaming the Family Many Times Family Members Sincerely Think They Are Helping By Buddy T facebook twitter Buddy T is an anonymous writer and founding member of the Online Al-Anon Outreach Committee with decades of experience writing about alcoholism. Learn about our editorial policy Buddy T Updated on February 16, 2018 Sometimes Helping Really Doesnt Help. © Getty Images More in Addiction Alcohol Use Binge Drinking Withdrawal and Relapse Children of Alcoholics Drunk Driving Addictive Behaviors Drug Use Nicotine Use Coping and Recovery Each time an article on enabling is featured on the this site or in the weekly newsletter, it prompts email from readers who feel like the articles are somehow blaming the friends and family members of the alcoholic or addict for their problems. Although the articles always explain that family members do not cause the problem, love ones can find themselves contributing to the situation with their actions and reactions. Al-Anon Family Groups Three Cs say, I didnt cause it, I cant control it and I cant cure it, but many Al-Anon members find their actions and reactions can contribute to the family chaos. Recently, when I featured an article on enabling on my Twitter account or my Facebook page, I received an email from a reader that contained the following edited paragraph: Blaming the Family? Blaming a family for a condition that a person who has willingly, knowingly, and VOLUNTARILY, acquired regarding an addiction is BEYOND WRONG! No family (unless its a family full of dysfunctional addicts/alcoholics!) TEACHES a fellow family member HOW to become addicted to a drug! So where is this bulls*** addiction is a family disease, myth coming from? First of all, having been an active member of Al-Anon Family Groups for more than 25 years, I am not blaming the family member for the alcoholics problems - I am a family member. Nothing that I ever did caused my family members alcoholism and nothing I did ever stopped it either. Enabling, Not Helping But after years of reading books and listening to other Al-Anon members share their experiences, I decided that some of the things that I thought I was doing to help the family situation were actually creating an atmosphere in which the dysfunctional behavior could continue. Instead of helping the situation, I was actually enabling it to continue in many ways. This quiz can help illustrate how you may be enabling. Well-Meaning, Good-Intentioned The problem for me, and for many others who have found themselves in the same situation, is that I had no idea that some of the things that I was doing were part of the problem instead of part of the solution. Just as many others well-meaning, good-intentioned love ones, I was not aware of all of the different ways that I was enabling the insanity to continue. I didnt realize at the time when I called in sick for the alcoholic, lied for her, covered up for her and made excuses for her so that she could keep her job and maintain her reputation, that I was actually enabling her to continue in her destructive behavior rather than face the real consequences for her actions. Perhaps if I had allowed her to deal with the natural consequences of drinking, rather than stepping in and trying to fix things, she might have decided she needed to seek help for her problem. A Family Disease Also like many others in that situation, I found that I had gradually become so absorbed in trying to fix the alcoholics problems that I in fact lost much of myself in the process. It happened so slowly and insidiously over time that I didnt even realize how much I had been affected by the experience. I was affected in ways that I didnt even realize. In many ways I was mentally and emotionally just as sick as the alcoholic, all the while blaming the alcoholic for all of the problems! Thats why its called a family disease. It can sneak up on you and affect you psychologically, spiritually and even physically without you even knowing it. But I didnt stay sick. I found recovery through Al-Anon Family Groups. I learned to stop being part of the problem, when someone 25 years ago explained to me the concept of enabling and pointed out that little that I had done previously had ever helped the situation at all.

Most Memorable Works Of Architecture - 971 Words
There have been many memorable works of architecture in ancient history. So many, in fact, that it can sometimes be pretty overwhelming. It is always interesting to think about how much these individuals of the ancient world built given how behind they were compared to our lives today. In the big scheme of things, they were actually probably better off than we are today. One of the most admired and intricate works of architecture from the medieval French era is known as the Chartres Cathedral (AKA the Notre-Dame de Chartres or Cathedral of Notre-Dame). This building is currently located in France in the medieval town of Chartres, about fifty miles southwest of Paris (2 Chartres Cathedral, Chartres Cathedral). It is consequently ranked as one of the three chief examples of Gothic French architecture (The Editors of Encyclopedia Britannica, Chartres Cathedral). The effort and meticulousness that was put into this building is magnificent for a time when such architectural progress in society was small in quantity. The Chartres Cathedral is one of the works of art in ancient history that still deems itself relevant today. The reason why I chose to focus on the Gothic cathedrals of this time period is mainly because of their sheer beauty and the complexity that it took to build these buildings, particularly the Chartres Cathedral. It is no surprise that such a piece of work is still recognized and discussed in ancient history curriculum. World War I And The Great War - 1196 Words
Mass culture by definition refers to the set of ideals and values that develop from a common exposure to the same media, news sources, music, and art (chegg). It conveys the idea that culture emerges spontaneously from the masses themselves, like popular art did before the 20th century. However, post WW1 American society had advancements in technology that aided certain ideals and values in spreading across the nation. And the term media culture gives reference to the current western capitalist society that emerged and developed from this 20th century time period under the influence of mass media. World War I, or the Great War, was one of the bloodiest wars of all time. It was a war sparked by militarism, alliance, imperialism, andâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦As president, Wilson was an aggressive progressive and passed lots of protective legislation for his citizens. With better working conditions and wages accompanied by better workdays, the middle class was built up and social and economical gaps shrunk. His triple law of privilege, or Wilsonââ¬â¢s 3 points, was a key piece of progressive legislation. He lowered the tariff, controlled banks with the Federal Reserve act and created the F.E.D. to decide interest rates, and controlled big corporations with anti trust laws. But after the end of the war Americans wanted a change and they received that with republican senator from Ohio, Warren G. Harding. Harding campaigned on the slogan of a ââ¬Å"return to normalcyâ⬠. Under the Harding administration, normalcy meant a pro business government, anti-tax, and anti-regulation (shmoop). A consumer culture was created. A newspaper reporter stated, ââ¬Å"The first responsibility of an American to his country is no longer that of a citizen, but that of a consumerâ⬠(Understanding the American Promise). Old values were tossed and new mottos were to spend money rather than save. Mass production fueled corporate profits and national economic prosperity ( Understanding the American Promise). A new culture was founded, a United States that focused on itself. An American culture was conceived that had fun

Julius Caesar Group Project: Analyzing Diction on Marc Antonyââ¬â¢s Speech 1. Overall I would classify Marc Antonyââ¬â¢s speech as largely monosyllabic as a whole in length. This took a much longer time to decide than it did of Brutusââ¬â¢ speech, this could be that Antony is a smarter and nobler person or that itââ¬â¢s just how Julius Caesar constructed the speech to persuade the crowd. We will write a custom essay sample on Julius Caesar Group Project or any similar topic only for you Order Now One of the lines that demonstrate a great use of one syllable would be ââ¬Å"My heart is in the coffin there with Caesar and I must pause ââ¬Ëtill it come back to meâ⬠(Shakespeare, Lines 108-109). This is just one of the many lines that uses a lot of one syllable words but in the end the speech was mainly one syllable in length. 2. Antonyââ¬â¢s speech uses a very well use of both techniques of persuading and informing. I felt that there was more use of persuading in his speech than informing but thatââ¬â¢s only because they love Antony at the end of the speech. An example of informing from Antony is, ââ¬Å"I come to bury Caesar not praise himâ⬠(Shakespeare, Line 2) Here he is just telling the audience and conspirators that he is just trying to give a simple Funeral. Antony is clever with his words by bluntly saying things and letting the audienceââ¬â¢s mind go off and feel that things are correct. Itââ¬â¢s not just the Audience that persuades themselves he says, ââ¬Å"Did this in Caesar seem ambitious? â⬠(Shakespeare, Line 92). Giving examples and then asking questions to play with their minds was a very successful tactic of Antonyââ¬â¢s. 3. I felt that Antonyââ¬â¢s diction was very formal in his speech; unlike Brutus the crowd does not respond in his speech. Antony uses advance word choice, which makes him look more intelligent to the not so intelligent clump of Romans. An excellent example of his formal diction would be, ââ¬Å" So let it be with Caesar. The Noble Brutus hath told you Caesar was ambitious: if it were so, it was a grievous fault, and grievously hath Caesar answerââ¬â¢d itâ⬠(Shakespeare, lines 79-82) the words such as grievous and ambitious show formal diction. Diction like Antonyââ¬â¢s overrideââ¬â¢s Brutusââ¬â¢ speech with repititon which makes their mind believe that ââ¬Å"WOW! This really is impressive and heââ¬â¢s right! â⬠although he does fall short with not letting the audience get in some action of their own opinion. 4. Antony is very wise and really gets people in his speech in Act 3 Scene 2 by using denotative examples and not ââ¬Å"what ifâ⬠and ââ¬Å"in generalâ⬠meanings. He not only gives specific examples on how things should be but also on how things shouldnââ¬â¢t be which is genius like of Antony to portray pros and cons. Lines 90 and 91 re perfect examples of specifics he tells us, ââ¬Å"He hath brought many captives home to Tome whose ransoms did the general coffers fillâ⬠¦. â⬠(Shakespeare, Line 90-91) Antony uses endless examples but this one stuck out to me most. 5. Going back to specifics, my feelings have not changed, Antony is lousy with specifics that make his speech concrete. Another one of his detailed specific would be from line 93 where he states, ââ¬Å" When the poor have cried, Caesar hath wept :â⬠(Shakespeare, Line 93). Not only is this fact dead one but also it involves pathos and makes Caesar look even better! 6. One of Antonyââ¬â¢s tactics also for his great speech was the euphonious tone/ word choice he used. Typically when you use a nice/pleasant tone with people, they will give you what you want. One of the more highlighting parts of the euphonious words was in line 89 where he declares, ââ¬Å"And Brutus is an honourable man. â⬠. Even though Antony disagreed very highly of Brutus and the conspirators he still followed the rule Brutus gave him and used very appreciative words with the crowd. . According to Marc Antonyââ¬â¢s diction I do feel that he does achieve his overall purpose for the crowd to like him, honor Caesar, and strongly hate Brutus and the conspirators. He succeeds this overall purpose by being clever and tricky with his words by speaking against Brutus he falls short by not using as much emotion. The greater part of his speech was most definitely greater than any oth er part of his speech. How to cite Julius Caesar Group Project, Essay examples
