All I felt was forlornness and agony, as one day each living soul will bear such a punishment.Another one of them needed to catch our eye again as everyones lost in their world.The youthful individual pointed a shot at hound. Although the articles always explain that family members do not cause the problem, love ones can find themselves contributing to the situation with their actions and reactions. Al-Anon Family Groups Three Cs say, I didnt cause it, I cant control it and I cant cure it, but many Al-Anon members find their actions and reactions can contribute to the family chaos. Recently, when I featured an article on enabling on my Twitter account or my Facebook page, I received an email from a reader that contained the following edited paragraph: Blaming the Family? Blaming a family for a condition that a person who has willingly, knowingly, and VOLUNTARILY, acquired regarding an addiction is BEYOND WRONG! No family (unless its a family full of dysfunctional addicts/alcoholics!) TEACHES a fellow family member HOW to become addicted to a drug! So where is this bulls*** addiction is a family disease, myth coming from? First of all, having been an active member of Al-Anon Family Groups for more than 25 years, I am not blaming the family member for the alcoholics problems - I am a family member. Nothing that I ever did caused my family members alcoholism and nothing I did ever stopped it either. Enabling, Not Helping But after years of reading books and listening to other Al-Anon members share their experiences, I decided that some of the things that I thought I was doing to help the family situation were actually creating an atmosphere in which the dysfunctional behavior could continue. Instead of helping the situation, I was actually enabling it to continue in many ways. This quiz can help illustrate how you may be enabling. Well-Meaning, Good-Intentioned The problem for me, and for many others who have found themselves in the same situation, is that I had no idea that some of the things that I was doing were part of the problem instead of part of the solution. Just as many others well-meaning, good-intentioned love ones, I was not aware of all of the different ways that I was enabling the insanity to continue. I didnt realize at the time when I called in sick for the alcoholic, lied for her, covered up for her and made excuses for her so that she could keep her job and maintain her reputation, that I was actually enabling her to continue in her destructive behavior rather than face the real consequences for her actions. Perhaps if I had allowed her to deal with the natural consequences of drinking, rather than stepping in and trying to fix things, she might have decided she needed to seek help for her problem. A Family Disease Also like many others in that situation, I found that I had gradually become so absorbed in trying to fix the alcoholics problems that I in fact lost much of myself in the process. It happened so slowly and insidiously over time that I didnt even realize how much I had been affected by the experience. I was affected in ways that I didnt even realize. In many ways I was mentally and emotionally just as sick as the alcoholic, all the while blaming the alcoholic for all of the problems! Thats why its called a family disease. It can sneak up on you and affect you psychologically, spiritually and even physically without you even knowing it. But I didnt stay sick. I found recovery through Al-Anon Family Groups. I learned to stop being part of the problem, when someone 25 years ago explained to me the concept of enabling and pointed out that little that I had done previously had ever helped the situation at all.

Michael Coppola The American Dream The American Dream The American Dream is to Live comfortably and avoid debilitating poverty. Despite the United States containing some of the richest people in the world, The American Dream has been an unachievable goal for most citizens due to our society and the wage gap. The wage gap prevents people from achieving a comfortable life that can be maintained, and achieving the American Dream. In today's day and age, we all don't get the same choices and opportunities, much like in F. Scott Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby, Nick's father had said 'Whenever you feel like criticizing anyone,' he told me, 'just remember that all the people in this world haven't had the advantages that you've had' (page 5). Nick was reminded not to judge others because he was given wealth and opportunities that many others did not receive, much like today's society, where everybody does not start off at the same place. It's unfair that many people receive so much more wealth from pure luck compared to others. Many of these people who are much richer can oppress these people and control the world around them, evident in both how They were careless people, Tom and Daisy - they smashed up things and creatures and then retreated back into their money or their vast carelessness or whatever it was that kept them together, and let other people clean up the mess they had made (page 188) and how Meyer Wolfenstein fixed the world series, which was found out when Nick said "The idea staggered me. Many people today still face extremely heavy poverty and fail to climb the American dream and to raise the wages to live comfortably due to the inability to afford education and begin a higher paying career. Not only does this hole of poverty keep people inside of it, but drags people in as well. The people becoming part of this hole are "a diverse range of people: single parents, couples with and without children, young women with graduate degrees, business owners, seniors and everyone in between. Their financial situations, however, show many similarities. Jobs generally provide them with the means to barely scrape by, treading paycheck-to-paycheck, earning just enough to keep from going under, swa llowing their pride sometimes to take food stamps or visit food banks. Others are entirely out of work, tirelessly seeking employment and relying on other means to survive." according to Nick Wing. So many different people living so many different lives can all be destroyed and torn away from the American dream. The wage gap is only growing where the rich become richer and the poor become poorer. I think all countries should discuss and create a solution to minimize the atmospheric concentrations of greenhouse gases at a level that would prevent dangerous interference with the earthsà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ climate change. Such a level should be achieved within a timeframe sufficient to allow ecosystems to adapt naturally to climate change, to ensure food production is not threatened and to allow economic development to proceed in a sustainable manner. One example of this in our world today is the use of à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“Green Buildingà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬? technology or à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“Sustainable Designà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬? in architectural design of structures. This innovative idea of building allows structures to be built using recycled materials or substances that are less harmful to the environment. The e fficient use of light and energy would be the most concentrated means of achieving a specific design goal. Aside from the political and legal measures taken in this matter, I feel companies need to undertake voluntary measures to address the climate change. As residents of earth, it is essential to be aware of the impacts onesà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ company is generating.
